Portrait of Simon de Vos (1603-1676). by Anthony Van Dyck (1599-1641). Flemish artist, nearly three-quarter length, turned to the left, facing the spectator, in dark dress with white collar with loose cloak over his left shoulder, his right hand to his waist - on panel 7.75 in. x 6.75 in. Provenance: Sir Peter lely; sale, 18th April 1682 "Item. Thirty -Seven Pictures done in Grisaille done by Vandike after the life of the most eminent men in his time, from which the plates were graven" (ii125 to Ralph, 1st Duke of Montagu) Engraved: by P.
