The daughter of the 2nd Earl of Cardigan, she married the 11th Earl of Shrewsbury as his second wife in 1659. He died (1678) from wounds received in a duel with her lover, the 2nd Duke of Buckingham. Other versions are at Althorp, Knole and the National Portrait Gallery (half length).
