This picture of the mid-1730s hangs in its original carved andgilded frame. Tradition identifies the figure conspicuous at theleft, a groom helping him to divest himself of his coat, as John, 2ndDuke of Montagu. One of Wootton's liveliest hunts.
In the 1832 Inventory of paintings at Boughton (BH10): 'no.1 Ahunting piece by Wootton'.
