This is Jervas's most ambitious treatment of a favourite theme: a female subject in Turkish dress. Full-length versions without the pages are in the National Gallery of Ireland (as unknown women) and formerly at Stanmer. Several three-quarter-length versions are known, including one belonging to Lord Montagu of Beaulieu.
